COVID-19 Government Guidance

COVID-19 Government Guidance

Dear Parent / Carer

Thank you for your patience as we make arrangements for setting work for the majority of our learners who will be working at home. Overnight, the Government has produced further guidance regarding the closure of educational settings, including additional detail regarding the professions classed as ‘critical workers’. Please find this information in the link below:

The Government are asking our school to remain open if required for children of critical workers and vulnerable children only (critical workers and vulnerable children are defined in the above link). If it is at all possible for these children to be at home, then they should be. Parents should note that there will be no attendance issues for a learner from this list who does not attend. Parents should also note that there will be no attendance issues for any learner not attending. Parents should also do everything they can to ensure children are not mixing socially in a way which can continue to spread the virus. They should observe the same social distancing principles as adults.

For learners that attend, the Government has stated that the schools will not be following the national curriculum and shouldn’t be seen as an educational setting, but rather a “safe place” for critical workers to leave their children.

Therefore, I am asking you to only send your child into school if you have completed the Microsoft Form survey sent out yesterday afternoon confirming that you are on the critical worker list. The school may need to confirm eligibility, so please provide details of your workplace. If your child is entitled to a Free School Meal and they require the packed lunch provided for the Free School Meal but they do not meet the criteria to attend school, please email for arrangements to collect the Free School Meal packed lunch.

I understand that these are extremely difficult times for you and your family, but as a school we can only sustain provision for children of critical workers and vulnerable children identified by the school if everybody adheres to the above criteria.

I wish you every blessing for the time ahead. Please keep all of our staff and learners in your prayers.

Yours sincerely

Mrs T Madden
