DofE Participants

Dear Bronze, Silver and Gold Award participants,

Though our expedition section is currently postponed, you can still use this time to work on your other sections: Skill, Physical and Volunteering. Some of your activities may need to be changed due to current circumstances, but this is perfectly acceptable. On your eDofE account there is the facility to amend section activity planners.

You could, for example, change:

  1. Physical: Walk around your local area (following Government guidelines on social distancing) and map your route on an app, which you can then upload as your evidence.
  2. Skill: Prepare and cook one meal a week for your family, taking photos of the preparation stages and final dish.
  3. Volunteering: Garden for a neighbour, as long as you still adhere to government guidelines on social distancing.

Please be aware though, that you still cannot use a family member as your assessor. Teachers at SJFCC are very good at being DofE assessors. Just drop them an email first to ask.

Please keep an eye on the DofE website as activities ideas for home based DofE are about to be updated.

The DofE have also created this page which also has advice for completing the DofE:,

Please do not hesitate to contact Ms Gentle-Lloyd via email or via eDofE if you have any questions or queries regarding any of the Award schemes.

Take care and stay safe.
