DofE Volunteer Hour Certificate

Dear Ms Gentle-Lloyd,

I am delighted to attach your Licensed Organisation’s Volunteer Hour Certificate for 2020. Across the Central England region, an incredible 596,804 hours of volunteering have been carried out by participants. This has provided £2,596,097 worth of social value back into local communities across the region.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you, your DofE team, and your participants for all of your hard work, dedication and commitment over the past year. Not only does volunteering provide vital support to local communities across the country, it also provides young people with the opportunity to take part in new experiences, develop new skills and feel a sense of pride in supporting the communities that they live in.

Your Volunteer Hour Certificate indicates the specific number of hours of volunteering and social value for your Centre during 2019/20. The number of hours is based on the participants who have achieved their volunteering section between 1st April 2019 and 31st March 2020, and calculated based on them completing the minimum one hour weekly time commitment over the minimum duration according to whether they completed their Bronze, Silver or Gold Award. The social value is calculated based on the minimum wage for under 18’s of £4.35, multiplied by the total amount of volunteering hours conducted.

Your DofE programme plays a significant role in supporting your Licensed Organisation’s local community through grassroots volunteering. Please do share your certificate with your DofE team, parents, participants, and share your achievements on social media.

We look forward to working with you in 2020/21, to support many more young people to participate in their DofE Award and volunteer in their local community.

All the best
