Dear Parent / Carer / Learner
Thank you for your continued support with the measures in place to ensure a controlled entry to the school premises in the morning. I want to thank you in particular for following advice regarding car parking on Ashfields New Road. There was also a marked improvement in the gathering of learners around the entrances. In particular, I was pleased to see almost all learners wearing face coverings whilst waiting outside school. Learners are asked to wear face coverings whilst waiting to go into school and when in school, apart from lessons, unless they are exempt for a specific reason-please share this information with your child’s pastoral leader.
Having reviewed the entry this morning, we are making one revision to the entry times. It is very important that these are adhered to as much as possible for the health and safety not only of our children and colleagues but of the local community. I fully appreciate the impact that this has around childcare in the mornings but these measures are in place to ensure the health and safety of our school community. Therefore, in order to ensure the safety of our children, please speak to your child about not arriving at school until the time that they are allowed entry onto the school premises.
|Year Group||Allowed Entry onto the school premises||Formal start of form period/registration||Entrance Point|
|Year 7||8:30am||8:45am||A. Gate nearest Newcastle College|
|Year 8||8:45am||8:55am||A. Gate nearest Newcastle College|
|Year 9||8:45am||8:55am||B. Double car gate onto school yard|
|Year 10||8:35am||8:50am||C. Pedestrian main entrance into the school (please line up by fence to enter)|
|Year 11||8:30am||8:45am||B. Double car gate onto school yard|
|Sixth Form||8:20am||8:45am||C. Pedestrian main entrance into the school (please line up by fence to enter)|
Once your child arrives on the school premises, they must go immediately to their form room. If you drop your child off to school in the morning, please note that Ashfields New Road becomes heavily congested. I would strongly advise you to consider another drop-off point for your child in the morning. Please do not stop directly outside the school as this presents a danger to the safety of our learners and builds congestion on the road.
Thank you again for your support with these changes. As a school, we will continue to review our measures in light of Government guidelines.
Mr G Murray
Head of School
